Broncos Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall appears in Denver court today (Wednesday, June 18),
for DUI charges stemming from an arrest in October of 2007.
"CompleteColorado.com" has learned that if Marshall takes the stand to testify in his defense,
prosecutors will use statements against him that he made at a press conference from March of
this year. At the time, Marshall was holding the press conference to talk about an injury to
his arm, but also made comments about his DUI arrest by Denver Police.
In later statements in the same press conference, Marshall seemed to acknowledge an even
greater responsibility, making statements that prosecutors could argue are tantamount to
a confession of guilt, even though the wide receiver has entered a plea of not guilty.
As of late Tuesday afternoon, prosecutors in the Denver DA's office did not seem to be
preparing for any kind of plea deal.
Marshall was stopped in Denver hours after the Broncos had picked up a home victory over the
Pittsburgh Steeelers.
He is represented by Harvey Steinberg.
