Department of Natural Resources Director Mike King cited for hunting trespass

Mike King, Director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources (DNR), was cited for “Hunting/Trapping/Fishing without permission” in September of last year.  The charges are still pending, and King is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.  The alleged incident happened in Routt County.

According to Mr. King’s biography on the DNR website, he was appointed to his current position in May 2010, then reappointed to the post by Governor John Hickenlooper in January of 2011.

Few other details about the citation/allegations are known at this time.  The citation was written by the Colorado Division of Wildlife, an agency that falls under King’s purview in his duties as DNR Executive Director.
