Mesa County Commissioners on Monday sent a letter to Governor Jared Polis urging an end to Colorado’s participation in a federal program paying supplemental benefits to Coloradans drawing unemployment.
The facts definitely look bad. Curative seems like it was a long-shot at best, and the political tie smells.
A little irony here is that, while some people refuse to get vaccinated though they can, I’d like to get better-vaccinated but cannot.
President Biden has been shamefully petty and dishonest in refusing to acknowledge the contribution of President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed in bringing the COVID vaccines to Americans in unprecedented, record time.
As it stands, Colorado has spent over $2 billion on unemployment benefits, and while the current unemployment rate is almost half of what it was in April 2020, it’s still nearly triple the pre-pandemic rate.
Please, Governor Unemployment, stop spending our money to keep able people from bringing dignity to their lives.

The resolution says the commissioners are not only opposed to any ongoing mask mandate or requiring proof of vaccination but anything that could disenfranchise their citizens from the right to make their own health care decisions.
One of the most instructive benefits of a year and month of lockdowns has been listening in to what happens in my kids’ classrooms. My daughter would tell me the tales of the propaganda shoveled to her by teachers, but thanks to online teaching I heard it for myself.
